The electrophorus is an old electrostatic device often lost in the history of science. We have redesigned the basic device using modern triboelectric polymers in the charging pad that is recessed in a varnished hardwood base. The aluminum charge collector is spun with all rounded surfaces and a smooth deep die counter sunk screw to hold the 6" Delrin handle. The wood base measures 11"x11". Using a wool rubbing cloth we have generated 1" sparks to a brass ball. This is an ideal instrument for school use and for amateur scientists to experiment with electrostatics. We have several different combinations available in our store. We can also offer OEM pricing, email for details.
